biochemistry student Hai Nguyen

Hai Nguyen, Biochemistry

Name: Hai Nguyen

Major: Biochemistry
School: San Diego Mesa College

Why did you choose a STEM major?
I’m really good at science courses, so that’s why. I want to go into the medical field because I love to take care of people. I want to help people stay healthy so that they can keep going toward their goals in life. I also think the medical field has a low rate for being fired.

Have you ever considered leaving your STEM major?

Never, ever… so far.

What keeps you motivated to stay in STEM?
Math is my favorite class. I know I’m not good at social science or those types of majors.

What is your favorite study habit?
I like to read the book. English is my second language and sometimes the professor speaks so fast, that it’s hard to understand everything. The book helps me understand.
